Worldbuilding Extras
A couple of features make setting up and tailoring your world faster: importable preset packs that give a new entity type a head start, and field toggles that let you decide which details appear on your people. For the fundamentals of types, folders, and custom fields, see Custom Entities & Worldbuilding.
Entity preset packs
Section titled “Entity preset packs”When an entity type is empty, Wonderthrough can offer ready-made entries to start from. From the type’s settings you’ll see an Import presets option; it opens a short flow:
- If more than one pack is available, pick the pack you want — each shows its name, how many entries it includes, and a preview.
- Review the checklist of entries. Everything is selected by default; uncheck anything you don’t want.
- Import, and the entries land in your world as drafts you can freely edit, rename, or delete.
Imported entries are added alongside anything already in the type, so importing a pack never replaces your existing work. Treat the entries as a starting point — they’re there to save you from a blank page, not to dictate your world.
People template field toggles
Section titled “People template field toggles”Every detail Wonderthrough can track on a character is optional. From a type’s settings — People, for instance — you can toggle which fields appear on its profiles. Check a field to show it; uncheck it to hide it. A few essentials (like the entry’s name and description) are always present and can’t be turned off.
This lets you shape profiles to your project. If your story doesn’t need physical attributes or fashion notes, hide them and keep profiles clean. If a field links to another type that’s still empty, the settings will point you toward importing presets for it.
Your toggles are saved per type, so the choices you make for people are separate from the choices you make for locations or any custom type.
